Relocating From Los Angeles, CA. to Summerlin, NV.
My journey started back in 2003 when I had enough of living in Los Angeles. The traffic, the smog, the crime and just the lack of a quality of life. I had started coming out to Las Vegas in the 1990’s to visit my great aunt. Back then Las Vegas was a lot smaller than it is now. I loved the 24 hour aspect of the city. The amount of things you can do besides gaming on the strip. Traffic was not bad, the amount of outdoor activities you can go as well as the ability to explore a new city. I was hooked. When the time was right, I packed up left my career in law enforcement and decided to change my life for the better. I don’t look back and love my life in Summerlin and the Las Vegas Valley.
Living in Summerlin, Nevada
Summerlin is approximately 14 miles to the west of the Las Vegas Strip. It started out in the 1950’s when Howard Hughes purchased 250,000 acres of land for around $2,50 an acre. Summerlin started to take shape in the 1990’s and is still growing today. Summerlin offers a variety of real estate. From condos’ in the $425,000.00 and up pricing point, to single family homes starting around $475,000.00 to custom homes that are in the millions. Getting around Summerlin is easy with the large, wide streets, 45 MPH speed limit as well as the 215 Beltway that connects all of Las Vegas. Quality of life is amazing, we have trail systems for biking, walking and exploring. Golf courses give variety of play as well as something to do outdoors.
I love that I can also hang out and walk my dog at Downtown Summerlin where you can take in a tripple a baseball game at the Las Vegas Ballpark as well as ice skating at the Golden Knights headquarters too. The Future of Summerlin
Recently, a joint venture between Howard Hughes and Sony Entertainment was approved to build a massive 58 acre Summerlin Production Studio that will create 10,000 brand new jobs in the motion picture industry. This project was just approved by the Clark County Commission. It still has some approvals that are needed, but it will bring in new jobs and new careers. Summerlin also has at least 4,000+ acres to develop. Summerlin West continues to be build out and will grow in then next few years. The Summerlin West Urban Core project will also see Summerlin go vertical with high rise condos and office buildings.

Summerlin gives you an amazing opportunity to explore a master planned community that is always changing and adapting to it’s population as well as meeting the needs of it’s residents. There are amazing things coming into the area in the next few years. Summerlin Real Estate is still very limited due to a lack of inventory however, new consturction is booming and offers something for everyone.
